What we do

The Food Security Information Network (FSIN) plays a leading role in food security and nutrition data analysis and information, particularly in countries facing acute hunger. Since 2017, FSIN has worked closely with the Global Network Against Food Crises (GNAFC), given the two networks’ common goal of better understanding food crises and their drivers. As part of this collaboration, the FSIN has facilitated the annual, multi-partner, consensus-based Global Report on Food Crises, its mid-year update, as well as regional reports such as the IGAD and CILSS regional reports on food crises.

Our mission is to address this pressing issue by providing timely and accurate food security and nutrition information, supporting evidence-based decision-making, and promoting effective actions to eradicate hunger and malnutrition.
